homemade mask ingredients

Honey, avocado, yogurt and oatmeal—sounds like the ingredients to a healthy snack, right? But they’re so much more than that. These superfoods benefit your health on the inside and help your skin on the outside.

Honey
Honey is packed with antioxidants that attract and retain moisture in your skin. Honey fights aging, bacteria, and contains many healing components. The antioxidants in honey not only moisturize, but help to fight signs of aging. Honey absorbs impurities like acne-causing bacteria from your pores and absorbs excess oil to prevent future acne.

As a natural antiseptic, honey can heal and soothe skin. It can stop MRSA, commonly known as a Staph infection. Honey is an anti-inflammatory that can heal acne caused by inflamed sebaceous glands and can calm eczema, rosacea and psoriasis-prone skin. Honey also fades dark spots or scars, because it acts as a natural bleaching agent.

Avocado
Avocados, like honey, help combat signs of aging by treating wrinkles, fine lines and age spots. Avocados are packed with vitamin E, which fights signs of aging and hydrates your skin to reduce fine lines. Avocados act as a humectants which draw in water to the skin. It removes dead skin cells, restores nutrients and gives you an instant glow. Avocados also help to treat psoriasis.

Yogurt
If your skin has been looking dull and tired, you need yogurt. Yogurt has lactic acid that helps to brighten your skin. It also exfoliates your skin by removing dead skin cells. There is zinc in yogurt that reduces skin inflammation by removing excess oil produced by sebaceous glands, which can cause acne. The zinc in yogurt also soothes sunburn.
